The Story
The spy genre has its own sound and everybody knows it the moment they hear it — a walking bass line, muted trumpet, a guitar lick dripping with reverb, and a drum groove that swings like a tail follow through a neon-lit city. John Barry wrote the template with the James Bond scores. Lalo Schifrin perfected it with Mission: Impossible. Henry Mancini gave it humor with the Pink Panther. The sound borrows from jazz, surf, lounge, and Latin — stitched together into something that feels like a tuxedo, a martini, and a silenced pistol all at once.
This library lives in that world. Live horn sections — trumpet, trombone, sax — deliver the cinematic punch that defines the genre. Covert electric guitar lines weave between muted jazz chords and surf-drenched tremolo. Vibes shimmer on top. Swinging drums and walking bass hold the foundation with a groove that's part jazz club, part car chase. The arrangements are built for suspense, action, and intrigue — scene-ready compositions that shift tension the way a great film score does.
Every instrument was tracked with the clarity and separation that cinematic work demands. The horns were recorded as a section and as solo instruments for maximum arrangement flexibility. The guitar was captured through multiple amp settings — clean jazz, overdriven surf, muted rhythm — so you can shift the mood within a single kit. The vibes and Rhodes have the natural shimmer of mallets on metal, not a sampled approximation. Every stem sits in its own space, ready for a mix that's as polished as a secret agent's shoes.

No. Kontakt is completely optional.
All libraries include standard WAV files that work in any DAW without additional software.
If a Kontakt Engine version is included, it requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt (v5.5 or higher) and will not run in the free Kontakt Player.
Will this work in my DAW?
