The Memphis sound — where rock n roll was born and soul came alive. Vintage electric and acoustic guitar, upright bass, blazing organs, and super-soulful drums. Johnny Cash, Elvis, B.B. King, and Otis Redding live in these arrangements.
The Story
Memphis invented two genres and didn't even mean to. At Sun Records on Union Avenue, Sam Phillips put Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis Presley in front of a microphone and rock n roll came out. A few blocks south, Stax Records did the same thing with Isaac Hayes, Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, and Booker T. & the MGs — and soul was born. Two studios. One city. Both running on the same thing: raw talent, minimal production, and the belief that feeling matters more than perfection.
This library captures both sides of that city. The rockabilly arrangements swing with slap bass, vintage electric guitar, and drums that drive with a loose, punchy feel. The soul side brings blazing organs, horn-section energy, and guitar tones dripping with warmth and grit. The players shift between styles the way Memphis musicians always have — one foot in rock, one foot in soul, comfortable in both.
Recorded to sound like a room from that era — warm, present, and close. The drums sit upfront with the natural ambience of a small studio. The guitars have the midrange push of a vintage amplifier mic'd at a distance. The organ fills the gaps without taking over. Every part was captured with enough room sound to feel real, but enough separation to give you full control over the mix. It sounds like a record from 1962, but it was built for the way you work today.

No. Kontakt is completely optional.
All libraries include standard WAV files that work in any DAW without additional software.
If a Kontakt Engine version is included, it requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt (v5.5 or higher) and will not run in the free Kontakt Player.
Will this work in my DAW?
Yes. All We Sound Human products work in every major DAW using standard audio files.
