What can I use these for?
Yes — 100% royalty-free, forever. Buy it once and use it in your music for as long as you make music. No per-use fees, no reporting, no expiry.
What you make with these is yours. We don't take a cut, we don't need to know about it, and we don't come back later.
What you can use them for
Just about anything you'd want to make:
- Songs, albums, EPs, singles — released anywhere, sold anywhere
- Sync placements in film, TV, adverts and trailers
- Client work and commissioned music
- Podcasts, YouTube, streaming and social content
- Video games and interactive media
- Live performance and recorded performance
- Production music and music-library catalogues
Chop them, stretch them, transpose them, layer them, rebuild them into something unrecognisable. That's what they're for.
Do I need to credit We Sound Human?
No. It's always appreciated and never expected. The music goes out under your name.
The two things you can't do
Short list, and both come down to the same principle: use the sounds to make music, not to make a competing product.
You can't repackage them as a sample library or virtual instrument
The samples can't be resold, redistributed, or included — modified or not — in another sample pack, loop library, or virtual instrument. That applies to the individual files and to anything built directly from them.
Everything else is fair game. It's specifically products made of our recordings that are off the table.
You can't use them to train AI
Our licence prohibits using these recordings to train, develop or improve any AI system — machine learning models, neural networks, or anything similar — without our written permission. That applies to commercial and non-commercial use alike.
These were played by real musicians in real rooms. That's the whole reason they exist, and it's not something we're willing to feed into a machine that replaces them.
Production music and music libraries
Yes, you can use these to build production-music and library catalogues. Plenty of people do.
One exception worth knowing: you can't use the demo mix tracks in a library catalogue, and you can't recreate them. Those exist to show what a library sounds like. Every individual part, stem and loop is yours to build with — just not the finished demo mix itself.
Some libraries don't include demo files at all, in which case this doesn't apply.
I got a YouTube Content ID claim
This happens occasionally and it doesn't mean you've done anything wrong.
Another creator used the same part in something they released, and YouTube's system flags the match. It doesn't affect your right to use the sound. Dispute the claim, noting that you licensed the audio from We Sound Human — and email us if you'd like a hand.
Are Discovery Collections covered?
Fully. Discovery Collections carry exactly the same royalty-free licence as the full libraries — same rights, same protections, no restrictions on releasing what you make with them.
