Downloading & Unzipping Your Files
Everything you buy lands in your account the moment your order goes through — and we email you a link as well. Nothing to install, no licence key, no waiting.
If something isn't opening, it's almost always the browser rather than the file. The fixes below cover it.
Where your files are
Log in to your We Sound Human account and everything you've ever bought is there, on any device, whenever you want it.
We also email a download link with your order confirmation. If it hasn't arrived after a few minutes, check spam — and if it's not there either, email us and we'll resend it.
Download links refresh every time you open your account, so you never need to worry about an old link going stale. If you saved a file link directly rather than the account page, just go back to your account and start again.
What to download
Short version: if there's a DAW Pack for your DAW, take that. If there isn't, take WAV. Everything else is optional.
Every format contains the same music — the difference is only how it's packaged, so downloading several usually means downloading the same content twice.
When the download won't open or unzip
This is the common one, and it's nearly always a browser setting rather than a damaged file.
"Decompression failed" on Mac
If you're in Safari and you see decompression failed, or the archive opens as a folder with nothing useful in it, Safari's Open "safe" files after downloading setting is the cause. Safari tries to unzip the file while it's still arriving, fails, and reports an error on a file that's actually fine.
Two ways to fix it:
- In Safari, go to Settings → General and switch off Open "safe" files after downloading. Download again, then unzip it yourself.
- Or download in Chrome or Firefox instead, which don't do this.
If the file has already downloaded and won't open, don't re-download straight away — try opening it with The Unarchiver (free, Mac App Store) first. It handles large archives more reliably than the built-in Archive Utility.
Nothing happens when you click download
The download opens in a new window, so a pop-up blocker will stop it silently.
Safari: a small icon appears in the address bar when a pop-up is blocked. Click it and choose to allow pop-ups for our site. Downloads will work from then on.
Chrome: check that Pop-ups and redirects is allowed for wesoundhuman.com — the blocked-pop-up icon sits at the right-hand end of the address bar.
The download stops partway
Some of these files are large. If a download cuts out before it finishes, the archive will be incomplete and won't open.
Use a wired connection if you can, avoid putting the machine to sleep mid-download, and take one library at a time rather than starting several at once.
Unzipping
The archives are ordinary .zip files. No password, no special software.
Mac: double-click to unzip. If it fails or the result looks wrong, use The Unarchiver instead.
Windows: right-click and choose Extract All. If you have 7-Zip or WinRAR, either is more reliable on large archives than the built-in extractor.
Move the unzipped folder wherever you keep your samples — an external drive is fine — and point your DAW at it. Nothing needs to live in a particular location.
If you've hit a download limit
There's a cap on how many times a file can be pulled, so links don't get passed around. It sits well above anything normal use will reach.
If you've somehow hit it — a new machine, a drive failure, a few false starts — just email us and we'll open it back up. No questions.
